Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 868

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The example of knowledge that does not benefit is like that of a treasure which is not spent in the path of Allah."
Ahmad and al-Bazzar recorded it, and its narrators have been declared trustworthy.
