Majma al-Zawaid 858 — Verifying and refraining from some hadith

Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: By Allah! If I wished, I could narrate to you a thousand statements for which you would love me, and you would come to me one after another and affirm me, counting it as goodness from Allah and His Messenger; and if I wished, I could narrate to you a thousand things for which you would hate me, keep away from me, and call me a liar.
Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its narrators have been declared trustworthy.
