It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) seated facing the Ka'bah, sitting in the ihtiba' posture with his two hands clasped (around his knees).
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains a narrator, Abu Ghaziyyah Muhammad bin Musa, and I do not know him. The remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
