عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ : حِيكَتْ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - حُلَّةٌ مِنْ أَنْمَارٍ مِنْ صُوفٍ أَسْوَدَ ، وَجَعَلَ لَهَا ذُؤَابَتَيْنِ مِنْ صُوفٍ أَبْيَضَ ، فَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - إِلَى الْمَجْلِسِ وَهِيَ عَلَيْهِ فَضَرَبَ عَلَى فَخِذِهِ فَقَالَ : " أَلَا تَرَوْنَ مَا أَحْسَنَ هَذِهِ الْحُلَّةَ ؟ " فَقَالَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ اكْسُنِي هَذِهِ الْحُلَّةَ ، وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - إِذَا سُئِلَ شَيْئًا لَمْ يَقُلْ لِشَيْءٍ يَسْأَلُهُ : لَا . قَالَ : " نَعَمْ " فَدَعَا بِمُعَقَّدَتَيْنِ فَلَبِسَهُمَا ، فَأَعْطَى الْأَعْرَابِيَّ الْحُلَّةَ ، وَأَمَرَ بِمِثْلِهَا تُحَاكُ فَمَاتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَهِيَ فِي الْمُحَاكَةِ .
قُلْتُ : لَهُ حَدِيثٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ فِي الْمِشْمَلَةِ غَيْرُ هَذَا .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ زَمْعَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ ، وَقَدْ وُثِّقَ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
قُلْتُ : لَهُ حَدِيثٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ فِي الْمِشْمَلَةِ غَيْرُ هَذَا .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ زَمْعَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ ، وَقَدْ وُثِّقَ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: A hullah (suit of garments) was made for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) from a striped cloak of black wool, and he had two tassels of white wool made for it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out to the gathering wearing it; he struck his thigh and said: "Do you not see how fine this hullah is?" A Bedouin said: "O Messenger of Allah, give me this hullah to wear." (The narrator says:) It was the blessed habit of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that whenever he was asked for anything, he would never say "No" to the one asking for anything. He said: "Very well." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent for two cloaks and put them on, and gave that hullah to the Bedouin. Then he ordered another hullah like it to be made; it had not yet been finished when, in the meantime, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: in the "Sahih" there is a hadith from this Companion about the "mishmalah" (a wrap), and it is different from this report.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Zam'ah bin Salih, and he is da'if (weak), though he has been declared trustworthy. The remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
