Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 8563

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had a wrap (milhafah) dyed with wars and saffron. He would wear it when going around to his wives. If it was the turn of a particular wife for him to stay with her, he would sprinkle water on that cloth, and if it was the turn of another wife, she would sprinkle water on it.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains Mu'ammal bin Isma'il, whom Ibn Hibban declared thiqah (trustworthy), while a group declared him da'if (weak).
