Al-Hasan al-Basri narrates: Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) intended to forbid Hajj Tamattu', and Sayyiduna Ubayy (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: That is not for you to do; we performed Hajj Tamattu' with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). So Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) gave no reply. He intended to forbid the use of hibarah suits, because they were dyed with urine, and Sayyiduna Ubayy (may Allah be pleased with him) said: That is not for you to do, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wore this cloth, and we too wore it in his time.
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except that the narrator al-Hasan did not hear from Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him).
