وَعَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ : كَسَانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - حُلَّةً مِنَ السِّيَرَاءِ أَهْدَاهَا لَهُ فَيْرُوزُ فَلَبِسْتُ الْإِزَارَ فَأَغْرَقَنِي طُولًا وَعَرْضًا ، وَلَبِسْتُ الرِّدَاءَ فَتَقَنَّعْتُ بِهِ ، فَأَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - بِعَاتِقِي فَقَالَ : " يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ ارْفَعِ الْإِزَارَ فَإِنَّ مَا مَسَّتِ الْأَرْضُ مِنَ الْإِزَارِ إِلَى أَسْفَلَ مِنَ الْكَعْبَيْنِ فِي النَّارِ " .
قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ : فَلَمْ أَرَ إِنْسَانًا قَطُّ أَشَدَّ تَشْمِيرًا مِنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ .
قُلْتُ : لَهُ أَحَادِيثُ فِي الصَّحِيحِ بِغَيْرِ هَذَا السِّيَاقِ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَأَبُو يَعْلَى بِبَعْضِهِ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ : لَبِسْتُ ثَوْبًا جَدِيدًا فَأَتَيْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَهُوَ عِنْدَ حُجْرَةِ حَفْصَةَ فِي لَيْلَةٍ مُظْلِمَةٍ فَسَمِعَ قَعْقَعَةَ الثَّوْبِ .
وَفِي إِسْنَادِ أَحْمَدَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ ، وَحَدِيثُهُ حَسَنٌ وَفِيهِ ضَعْفٌ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ : فَلَمْ أَرَ إِنْسَانًا قَطُّ أَشَدَّ تَشْمِيرًا مِنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ .
قُلْتُ : لَهُ أَحَادِيثُ فِي الصَّحِيحِ بِغَيْرِ هَذَا السِّيَاقِ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَأَبُو يَعْلَى بِبَعْضِهِ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ : لَبِسْتُ ثَوْبًا جَدِيدًا فَأَتَيْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَهُوَ عِنْدَ حُجْرَةِ حَفْصَةَ فِي لَيْلَةٍ مُظْلِمَةٍ فَسَمِعَ قَعْقَعَةَ الثَّوْبِ .
وَفِي إِسْنَادِ أَحْمَدَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ ، وَحَدِيثُهُ حَسَنٌ وَفِيهِ ضَعْفٌ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave me a "siyara'" suit (hullah) to wear, which Fayruz had given him as a gift. I put on the lower garment, and it was far too big for me in length and width. I took the upper wrap and wrapped myself in it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took hold of my shoulder and said: O Abdullah! Keep your lower garment raised, for whatever part of the lower garment touches the ground below the ankles will be in the Fire. Abdullah bin Muhammad says: I have never seen anyone who kept his lower garment raised with more care than Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both). (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: a hadith from this Companion is mentioned in the "Sahih", in a wording other than this one.
Ahmad recorded it. Abu Ya'la recorded part of it, except that his wording is: "I put on a new garment and came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was at that time by the chamber of Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her); this was on a dark night. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) heard the rustling of a garment." Ahmad's chain contains Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Aqil; his hadith is hasan (good), though there is weakness in him, and the rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
