بَابُ فِيمَنْ أَتَى كَاهِنًا أَوْ عَرَّافًا .
One who goes to a soothsayer or fortune-teller

وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ - يَعْنِي ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ - قَالَ : مَنْ أَتَى عَرَّافًا أَوْ كَاهِنًا يُؤْمِنُ بِمَا يَقُولُ ، فَقَدْ كَفَرَ بِمَا أُنْزِلَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " فَصَدَّقَهُ " . وَكَذَلِكَ رِوَايَةُ الْبَزَّارِ ، وَرِجَالُ الْكَبِيرِ وَالْبَزَّارُ ثِقَاتٌ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " فَصَدَّقَهُ " . وَكَذَلِكَ رِوَايَةُ الْبَزَّارِ ، وَرِجَالُ الْكَبِيرِ وَالْبَزَّارُ ثِقَاتٌ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says: "Whoever goes to an arraf (a diviner) or a soothsayer and has faith in what he says has disbelieved in what was revealed to Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, except that he narrated the words: "and believes him." Al-Bazzar's narration is the same. The narrators of al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and of al-Bazzar are thiqat (trustworthy).
