Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever sees something and it pleases him should say: 'Ma sha' Allah, la quwwata illa billah' (What Allah wills; there is no power except with Allah)." [The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:] "Then nothing will harm him."
Al-Bazzar recorded it as a narration of Abu Bakr al-Hudhali, and the narrator Abu Bakr is extremely da'if (weak). (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Ibn Abd al-Barr, in the book al-Tamhid, cites the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Why did you not invoke blessing for him?" It is reported from the people of knowledge that he should say: 'Allahumma barik fihi' (O Allah, put blessing in it). It is reported from some of them that he should say: 'Tabarak Allahu ahsanu al-khaliqin' (Blessed is Allah, the best of creators). (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Other hadiths of this kind will come in the chapter on adhkar (remembrances), if Allah wills.
