وَعَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ :
" لَا تُدِيمُوا النَّظَرَ إِلَى الْمُجَذَّمِينَ ، وَإِذَا كَلَّمْتُمُوهُمْ فَلْيَكُنْ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَهُمْ قَيْدُ رُمْحٍ " .
رَوَاهُ أَبُو يَعْلَى ، وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِي إِسْنَادِ أَبِي يَعْلَى الْفَرَجُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ ، وَقَدْ وَثَّقَهُ أَحْمَدُ وَغَيْرُهُ ، وَضَعَّفَهُ النَّسَائِيُّ وَغَيْرُهُ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ ، وَفِي إِسْنَادِ الطَّبَرَانِيِّ يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .

Sayyiduna Imam Husayn bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not keep staring at one afflicted with leprosy! When you speak with them, let there be the length of a spear between you and them."
Imam Abu Ya'la and Imam al-Tabarani recorded it. The chain of Imam Abu Ya'la contains al-Faraj bin Fadalah, whom Imam Ahmad and others declared thiqah (trustworthy), while Imam al-Nasa'i (may Allah have mercy on him) and others graded him da'if (weak); the rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy). The chain of Imam al-Tabarani contains Yahya al-Himmani, and he is da'if (weak); the rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
