وَعَنْ عَائِشَةَ - رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا - قَالَتْ : شَكَوْا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - مَا يَجِدُونَ مِنَ الْوَسْوَسَةِ ، وَقَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّا نَجِدُ شَيْئًا لَوْ أَنَّ أَحَدَنَا خَرَّ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ كَانَ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ أَنْ يَتَكَلَّمَ بِهِ ! فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " ذَاكَ مَحْضُ الْإِيمَانِ " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَأَبُو يَعْلَى ، بِنَحْوِهِ ، إِلَّا أَنَّ لَفْظَ أَبِي يَعْلَى : أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ لِعَائِشَةَ : إِنَّ أَحَدَنَا يُحَدِّثُ نَفْسَهُ بِشَيْءٍ لَوْ تَكَلَّمَ بِهِ ذَهَبَتْ آخِرَتُهُ ، وَلَوْ ظَهَرَ [ عَلَيْهِ ] لَقُتِلَ ، [ قَالَ ] فَكَبَّرَتْ ثَلَاثًا ، ثُمَّ قَالَتْ : سُئِلَ عَنْهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَكَبَّرَ ثَلَاثًا ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " إِنَّمَا يُخْتَبَرُ بِهَذَا الْمُؤْمِنُ " . وَفِي إِسْنَادِهِ شَهْرُ بْنُ حَوْشَبٍ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَأَبُو يَعْلَى ، بِنَحْوِهِ ، إِلَّا أَنَّ لَفْظَ أَبِي يَعْلَى : أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ لِعَائِشَةَ : إِنَّ أَحَدَنَا يُحَدِّثُ نَفْسَهُ بِشَيْءٍ لَوْ تَكَلَّمَ بِهِ ذَهَبَتْ آخِرَتُهُ ، وَلَوْ ظَهَرَ [ عَلَيْهِ ] لَقُتِلَ ، [ قَالَ ] فَكَبَّرَتْ ثَلَاثًا ، ثُمَّ قَالَتْ : سُئِلَ عَنْهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَكَبَّرَ ثَلَاثًا ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " إِنَّمَا يُخْتَبَرُ بِهَذَا الْمُؤْمِنُ " . وَفِي إِسْنَادِهِ شَهْرُ بْنُ حَوْشَبٍ .
Sayyidah Aishah al-Siddiqah narrates: Some people complained to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about the whisperings (waswasah) that came to them. They said: "O Messenger of Allah! We even find such a thought that if one of us were to fall from the sky, that would be dearer to him than speaking about this thought." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "That is pure faith."
Ahmad and Abu Ya'la recorded something similar, except that the wording of Abu Ya'la is: "A man said to Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her): 'Sometimes one of us gets such a thought that if a person were to speak about it, his Hereafter would be ruined, and if he were to reveal that thought, he would be killed.' The narrator says: Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said the takbir three times, then she said: 'The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was also asked about this, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said the takbir three times and then said: By this the believer is tested.'"
The chain of this report contains a narrator, Shahr bin Hawshab.
Ahmad and Abu Ya'la recorded something similar, except that the wording of Abu Ya'la is: "A man said to Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her): 'Sometimes one of us gets such a thought that if a person were to speak about it, his Hereafter would be ruined, and if he were to reveal that thought, he would be killed.'
