Sayyiduna Nadlah bin Amr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that he met the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at a place called "Maribbayn". His she-camels suddenly came up to him, and he gave the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) drink, then drank what was left in the vessel and was filled by it. Then he said: "O Messenger of Allah! Previously I used to drink seven (cups or vessels) and still not be satisfied." The narrator says: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, the believer drinks into one intestine, and the disbeliever drinks into seven intestines."
Imam Ahmad, Imam Abu Ya'la and Imam al-Bazzar recorded this narration, and Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in abridged form. Its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy), as al-Sayyid al-Husayni reported on the authority of Ibn Hibban. Our Shaykh mentioned to Salah al-Din al-Ala'i that Ibn Hibban did not mention some of them; and Allah knows best. As for Imam Abu Ya'la, he said: "It is reported from Ma'n bin Nadlah that Sayyiduna Nadlah (may Allah be pleased with him) met the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)." If Sayyiduna Ma'n (may Allah be pleased with him) is a Companion, then it is fine; otherwise
this narration is mursal according to him.
