Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 8247

Muslim narrates: I asked Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) about drinking while standing. He said: "O my nephew! I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): he tied his mount while it was kneeling, and I was holding its rein, with one of my feet placed on its foreleg. Some men from Quraysh came and stood around the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). A vessel of milk was brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he drank it while he was on his mount. Then he passed it to the person on his right, who drank it standing, until all the people had drunk it standing."
Imam Ahmad recorded this narration. As for this narrator named Muslim, I have not found anyone who declared him trustworthy or criticised him. The remaining narrators of this narration are thiqat (trustworthy).
