Sayyiduna Talq bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We were sitting with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when the delegation of the tribe of Abd al-Qays came. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Why is it that your complexions have turned yellow, your bellies have swollen and your veins have become prominent?" They said: "Our chief came to you and asked you about a drink that suited us, and you forbade him from it; and we live in a land whose climate does not suit us." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then drink whatever seems suitable to you!"
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Ajibah bin Abd al-Hamid; al-Dhahabi says: "He is almost unknown." The remaining narrators of this narration are thiqat (trustworthy).
