Sayyiduna Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When it was the time for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to break his fast, I brought him nabidh from an earthenware jar. When I brought it near the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), it had begun to ferment (or had become frothy). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Throw it against the wall! For this is the drink of one who does not believe in Allah Almighty and the Last Day."
Abu Ya'la, al-Bazzar and al-Tabarani recorded it; both of them (that is, al-Bazzar and al-Tabarani) recorded it in abridged form. Its chain contains a narrator, Musa bin Sulayman bin Musa, whom Abu Hatim declared thiqah (trustworthy), and the remaining narrators of this narration are thiqat (trustworthy).
