وَعَنْ مَعْقِلِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنِ الشَّرَابِ فَقَالَ : كُنَّا بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَكَانَتْ كَثِيرَةَ التَّمْرِ فَحَرَّمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - الْفَضِيخَ .
It is reported about Sayyiduna Ma'qil bin Yasar (may Allah be pleased with him) that he was asked about drink, and he said: "We were in Madinah, where dates were plentiful, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade fadikh."
