Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If a person eats seven 'Ajwah dates from between the two lava fields of Madinah on an empty stomach, that thing will not harm him that day until evening." A narrator named Fulayh says: I think the narration contains these words: he said: "If a person eats them in the evening, nothing will harm him until morning." Umar bin Abd al-Aziz said: "O Amir! Consider carefully what hadith you are narrating from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)." He said: "I bear witness that I have not attributed a lie to Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him), nor has Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) attributed a lie to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Part of this narration is reported in the Sahih without this wording, and it contains the words: "No poison or magic will harm him," whereas here the words are: "Nothing will harm him."
Imam Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
