Sayyidah Maymunah bint al-Harith (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: One year the people were struck by drought, and the Bedouins would come to Madinah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would instruct a man, and he would take another man by the hand, make him his guest and give him supper. One night a Bedouin came. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had a little food and a little milk; the Bedouin ate it and left nothing for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Then he came with him (the Prophet) for a night or two nights, and he would eat everything. I said in the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "O Allah! Do not put blessing in (the food of) this Bedouin, who eats the food of the Messenger of Allah and leaves him (with nothing)." Then one night the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) brought him along, and he ate only a little of the food. I said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "This is the same one who came before." That man had accepted Islam. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The disbeliever eats in seven intestines, and the believer eats in one intestine."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in full, and Ahmad recorded its last part. Al-Tabarani's narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
