عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ : كُنَّا نَأْكُلُ تَمْرًا عَلَى تُرْسٍ ، فَمَرَّ النَّبِيُّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَقَدْ جَاءَ مِنَ الْغَائِطِ ، فَقُلْنَا : هَلُمَّ . فَتَقَدَّمَ فَأَكَلَ مَعَنَا مِنَ التَّمْرِ وَلَمْ يَمَسَّ مَاءً .
[ رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ] وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) says: We were eating dates placed on a shield. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by us; he had come from relieving himself. We said: "Please come." So he came forward and ate dates with us, and he did not touch water (that is, he did not perform ablution).
