Ishaq bin Yahya bin Talhah says: I was with my paternal uncle Isa bin Talhah in the mosque when Sayyiduna al-Sa'ib bin Yazid (may Allah be pleased with him) came in. My uncle sent me to him and said to me: "Go to that elder and say to him: 'My uncle Musa bin Talhah says to you: Did you see the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)?'" I went to that man and asked him: "Did you see the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)?" He replied: "Yes! I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). I came into the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) (in my childhood), and some other boys were with me. We found him eating dates from a platter, and some people from among his Companions were with him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took out a handful of the dates for us, gave them to us, and passed his hand over our heads."
Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. The narrator Ishaq bin Yahya is matruk (abandoned).
