بَابٌ فِيمَنْ يَشْتَهِي الشَّيْءَ وَهُوَ عَاجِزٌ عَنْهُ .

عَنْ عِصْمَةَ قَالَ : جَاءَ نَفَرٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - إِلَى النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَقَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّا نَمُرُّ بِهَذِهِ الْأَسْوَاقِ فَنَنْظُرُ إِلَى هَذِهِ الْفَوَاكِهِ فَنَشْتَهِيهَا ، وَلَيْسَ مَعَنَا نَاضٌّ نَشْتَرِي بِهِ ، فَهَلْ لَنَا فِي ذَلِكَ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ؟ فَقَالَ : " وَهَلِ الْأَجْرُ إِلَّا ذَلِكَ ؟ ! " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ وَفِيهِ الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْمُخْتَارِ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .

Sayyiduna Ismah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Some of the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah! We pass through the markets, our eyes fall on these fruits and we desire them intensely, but we have nothing with which to buy them. Is there any reward for us in that?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Reward is only for that."
Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains al-Fadl bin al-Mukhtar, and he is da'if (weak).
