وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ أَنَّ سُبَيْعَةَ الْأَسْلَمِيَّةَ بِنْتَ الْحَارِثِ قَالَ : فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ أَوْ نَحْوَهُ ، وَقَالَ فِيهِ : " إِذَا أَتَاكِ كُفُؤٌ فَأْتِينِي أَوِ أَنْبِئِينِي بِهِ " . وَلَمْ يَذْكُرِ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Utbah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyidah Subay'ah al-Aslamiyyah bint al-Harith (may Allah be pleased with her) — after this the narrator mentioned the hadith as before, in which these words occur: "When a suitable match comes for you, come to me (the narrator is unsure, perhaps the words are:) tell me about him." In this the narrator did not mention Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him).
