وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " أُعْطِيتُ قُوَّةَ أَرْبَعِينَ فِي الْبَطْشِ وَالنِّكَاحِ وَمَا مِنْ مُؤْمِنٍ إِلَّا أُعْطِيَ قُوَّةَ عَشَرَةٍ وَجُعِلَتِ الشَّهْوَةُ عَلَى عَشَرَةِ أَجْزَاءٍ وَجُعِلَتْ تِسْعَةُ أَعْشَارٍ مِنْهَا فِي النِّسَاءِ وَوَاحِدَةٌ فِي الرِّجَالِ وَلَوْلَا مَا أُلْقِيَ عَلَيْهِنَّ مِنَ الْحَيَاءِ مَعَ شَهَوَاتِهِنَّ لَكَانَ لِكُلِّ رَجُلٍ تِسْعُ نِسْوَةٍ مُغْتَلِمَاتٍ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "I have been given the strength of forty men in grip and in intimacy, and every believer is given the strength of ten men. Desire has been divided into ten parts, nine of which are in women and one in men. Were it not for the modesty that has been placed upon women along with their desire, every man would have had nine wives with an intense longing (for marital relations)."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains a narrator, al-Mughirah bin Qays, who is da'if (weak).
