It is reported about Sayyiduna Abu Qu'ays (may Allah be pleased with him) that he came to Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) and asked permission to enter, but Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) did not like to give him permission. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came, Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "O Messenger of Allah! Abu Qu'ays came to me, and I refused to give him permission." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He may come in to you; he is your uncle." The narrator says: Abu Qu'ays was the foster uncle (through breastfeeding) of Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her).
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Abbad bin Mansur, who is thiqah (trustworthy), though he is also da'if (weak).
