عَنْ سَهْلَةَ بِنْتِ سُهَيْلٍ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ سَالِمًا مَوْلَى أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ يَدْخُلُ عَلِيَّ ، وَهُوَ ذُو لِحْيَةٍ . فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " أَرْضِعِيهِ " . فَقَالَتْ : كَيْفَ أُرْضِعُهُ ، وَهُوَ ذُو لِحْيَةٍ ؟ فَأَرْضَعَتْهُ فَكَانَ يَدْخُلُ عَلَيْهَا .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الثَّلَاثَةِ ، وَرِجَالُ أَحْمَدَ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ إِلَّا أَنَّ الْجَمِيعَ رَوَوْهُ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ سَهْلَةَ فَلَا أَدْرِي سَمِعَ مِنْهَا أَمْ لَا .

It is reported about Sayyidah Sahlah bint Suhayl (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: "O Messenger of Allah! Salim, the freed slave of Abu Hudhayfah, comes in to me, and he has grown a beard." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Suckle him!" The woman said: "How shall I suckle him when he has a beard?" Then the woman suckled him, and he used to come in to her.
Ahmad recorded it, and al-Tabarani recorded it in all three of his books; Ahmad's narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except that all of them narrated it from al-Qasim bin Muhammad from Sayyidah Sahlah (may Allah be pleased with her), and I do not know whether he heard from her or not.
