Book of Freeing Slaves
بَابٌ فِيمَنْ أَعْتَقَ نَصِيبًا فِي عَبْدٍ .
One who frees his share in a slave

وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " مَنْ أَعْتَقَ نَصِيبًا فِي مَمْلُوكٍ ضَمِنَ لَهُمْ نَصِيبَهَمْ مِنْ مَالِهِ " .
رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَبِيهِ وَهُمَا ضَعِيفَانِ .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever frees (his) share in a slave will be liable from his own wealth to (the other partners) for their shares."
Imam al-Bazzar recorded this narration from Ibrahim bin Isma'il bin Yahya, from his father, and both of them are da'if (weak).
