وَعَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ قَالَ : كُنَّا نُورِّثُهُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَعْنِي الْجَدَّ .
رَوَاهُ أَبُو يَعْلَى وَالْبَزَّارُ ، وَرِجَالُ أَبِي يَعْلَى رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) says: In the blessed time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), we used to make him an heir. (The narrator says:) He meant the grandfather.
