Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 7067

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Three things are among the character traits of the believers: one who, when he is angry, his anger does not lead him into falsehood; when he is pleased, his pleasure does not take him out of the truth; and one who, when he has power, does not reach for what he has no right to."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir; its chain contains Bashir bin al-Husayn, who is matruk (abandoned) and a kadhdhab (liar).
