Majma al-Zawaid 7010 — Appointing a blind man as deputy

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) appointed Sayyiduna Ibn Umm Maktum (may Allah be pleased with him) as his deputy over the prayer (leading it) and the other affairs of Madinah.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy), though some of them have been criticized in a way that does no harm.
