Muhammad bin Kurayb narrates from his father, from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), from Sayyiduna Sinan bin Abdullah al-Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him): His paternal aunt told him that she came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, my mother has died, and she was bound by a vow to walk on foot to the Ka'bah." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Are you able to walk on her behalf?" The woman said: "Yes." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then walk on behalf of your mother." The woman said: "Will that suffice for her?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes. What do you think: if your mother owed a debt and you paid it on her behalf, would it be accepted from you?" The woman replied: "Yes." So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty has more right to that."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and the narrator Muhammad bin Kurayb is da'if (weak).
