Majma al-Zawaid 6900 — By what one may swear, and the prohibition

Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Do not swear with the oath of Satan, which is that one of you says: "By the might of Allah." Rather, say as Allah has said: "Allah, the Lord of Might."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains Abd al-Rahman al-Mas'udi, who is thiqah (trustworthy), but his memory became confused.
