Sayyiduna Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to visit some people of the Ansar in their quarter. They slaughtered a goat for him and prepared food for him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took some of the meat to eat it; he chewed it for a while, but he could not swallow it. He asked: "What is the matter with this meat?" The people said: "This is so-and-so's goat, which we have slaughtered; when its owner comes, we will satisfy him with its price." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Give this meat to the captives."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Bishr al-Marisi, who is da'if (weak).
