This report is recorded in the "Sunan" as a narration of al-Sa'ib from his father.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir as his (al-Sa'ib's) own narration, that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say it.
