In a narration recorded by Imam Ahmad, also from Sayyiduna Umayr (may Allah be pleased with him), the words are: He narrates: I was grazing animals at Dhat al-Jaysh, and I was struck by hunger. I mentioned this to some of the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and they told me about an orchard belonging to one of the Ansar. I broke off some clusters from it; they seized me and took me to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). I told the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about my need, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave me one cluster and returned all the rest to its owner. The chain of the second narration contains a narrator, Ibn Lahi'ah, and the hadith he narrates is hasan (good). The chain of the first narration contains a narrator, Abu Bakr bin al-Muhajir, whom Ibn Abi Hatim mentioned, but he did not record any criticism (jarh) or commendation (ta'dil) of him; the remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
