Sayyiduna Amr bin Wathilah, or Sayyiduna Amir bin Wathilah (may Allah be pleased with him), narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave Sayyiduna Hakim bin Hizam (may Allah be pleased with him) a dinar and instructed him to buy a sacrificial animal with it. He bought the animal; then a man came to him who offered him a profit on that animal, so he sold it and then bought (another). Then he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with a dinar and a goat. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: What is this? He said: O Messenger of Allah! First I bought the animal, then I sold it, and I made a profit. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: May Allah Almighty bless you in your trade. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took the dinar and gave it in charity, and took the goat and sacrificed it.
Imam Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Umayr bin Imran; Ibn Adi says: He narrates false reports.
