It is reported about Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that he freed one of his slaves and then said: Although your wealth belongs to me, I leave it to you.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains a narrator, Abu Nu'aym al-Nakha'i, whom Ibn Hibban and Abu Hatim declared thiqah (trustworthy), while Imam Ahmad attributed lying to him, and a group declared him da'if (weak).
