وَعَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ : ابْتَاعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - مِنْ رَجُلٍ مِنَ الْأَعْرَابِ جَزُورًا ، أَوْ جَزَائِرَ بِوَسْقٍ مِنْ تَمْرِ الذَّخِيرَةِ . - وَتَمْرُ الذَّخِيرَةِ : الْعَجْوَةُ - فَرَجَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - إِلَى بَيْتِهِ فَالْتَمَسَ لَهُ التَّمْرَ فَلَمْ يَجِدْهُ ، فَخَرَجَ إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَقَالَ لَهُ : " يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّا قَدِ ابْتَعْنَا مِنْكَ جَزُورًا - أَوْ جَزَائِرَ - بِوَسْقٍ مِنْ تَمْرِ الذَّخِيرَةِ ، فَالْتَمَسْنَاهُ فَلَمْ نَجِدْهُ " . فَقَالَ الْأَعْرَابِيُّ : وَاغَدْرَاهْ ! قَالَ : فَنَهْنَهَهُ النَّاسُ ، وَقَالُوا : قَاتَلَكَ اللَّهُ ، أَتَغْدِرُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - ؟ ! قَالَتْ : فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " دَعُوهُ ، فَإِنَّ لِصَاحِبِ الْحَقِّ مَقَالًا " . ثُمَّ عَادَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَقَالَ : " يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّا ابْتَعْنَا مِنْكَ جَزَائِرَكَ ، وَنَحْنُ نَظُنُّ أَنَّ عِنْدَنَا مَا سَمَّيْنَا لَكَ فَالْتَمَسْنَاهُ فَلَمْ نَجِدْهُ " . فَقَالَ الْأَعْرَابِيُّ : وَاغَدْرَاهْ ! فَنَهْنَهَهُ النَّاسُ ، وَقَالُوا : قَاتَلَكَ اللَّهُ ، أَتَغْدِرُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " دَعُوهُ ، فَإِنَّ لِصَاحِبِ الْحَقِّ مَقَالًا " ، فَرَدَّ ذَلِكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - مَرَّتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثًا فَلَمَّا رَآهُ لَا يَفْقَهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ لِرَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ : " اذْهَبْ إِلَى خَوْلَةَ بِنْتِ حَكِيمِ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ ، فَقُلْ لَهَا : إِنْ كَانَ عِنْدَكِ وَسْقٌ مِنْ تَمْرِ الذَّخِيرَةِ فَأَسْلِفِينَا حَتَّى نُؤَدِّيهِ إِلَيْكِ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ " . فَذَهَبَ إِلَيْهَا الرَّجُلُ ، ثُمَّ رَجَعَ الرَّجُلُ قَالَ : قَالَتْ : نَعَمْ هُوَ عِنْدِي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَابْعَثْ إِلَيَّ مَنْ يَقْبِضُهُ . فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " اذْهَبْ بِهِ فَأَوْفِهِ الَّذِي لَهُ " . قَالَ : فَذَهَبَ بِهِ فَأَوْفَاهُ الَّذِي لَهُ ، فَمَرَّ الْأَعْرَابِيُّ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - ، وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ فِي أَصْحَابِهِ فَقَالَ : جَزَاكَ اللَّهُ خَيْرًا ، فَقَدْ أَوْفَيْتَ وَأَطَبْتَ . فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " أُولَئِكَ خِيَارُ عِبَادِ اللَّهِ [ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ] عِنْدَ اللَّهِ الْمُوفُونَ الْمُطَيِّبُونَ " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَالْبَزَّارُ ، وَإِسْنَادُ أَحْمَدَ صَحِيحٌ .

Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) bought a camel, or some camels, from a Bedouin in exchange for one wasq of dhakhirah dates; dhakhirah means Ajwah dates. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went back to his house and looked for the dates, but he did not find them. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went back to that man and said to him: "O servant of Allah! We bought a camel from you (the narrator is uncertain; perhaps the words are:) some camels, in exchange for one wasq of Ajwah dates. We looked for it, but we did not find them." The Bedouin said: "What betrayal is this?" The people scolded him and said: "May Allah Almighty destroy you! Are you calling the Messenger of Allah a betrayer?" Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Leave him alone, for the one who is owed a right also has the right to speak." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him again: "O servant of Allah! We bought your camels from you, and we thought that we had what we had named to you, but when we looked for it, we did not find it." The Bedouin said: "What betrayal is this?" The people scolded him and said: "May Allah Almighty destroy you! Are you calling the Messenger of Allah a betrayer?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Leave him alone, for the one who is owed a right also has the right to speak." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) repeated his words to him two or three times. When he saw that the man was not understanding him, he said to a man from among his companions: "Go to Khawlah bint Hakim bin Umayyah and say to her: 'If you have one wasq of Ajwah dates, lend it to us; if Allah wills, we will repay you.'" That man went to her, then came back and said: "She says: 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah! I have them; send someone to me to take possession of them.'" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Take this man with you and pay him in full." The narrator says: He took him along and paid him in full. Then the Bedouin passed by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was sitting among his companions, and the Bedouin said: "May Allah Almighty reward you with good! You have paid in full and done well." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "On the Day of Resurrection, the best of Allah Almighty's servants in the sight of Allah will be those who pay in full and in a good manner."
