Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 6640

Sayyiduna al-Bara' bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The one in debt will be held captive by his debt, and he will complain to Allah Almighty of his loneliness."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Mubarak bin Fadalah, whom Affan and Ibn Hibban declared trustworthy, while a group declared him da'if (weak).
