Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 6620

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "It is not fitting for a servant (of Allah) that, when his brother comes to him and asks him for a loan, and he has the means, he refuses to give it to him."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains a narrator, Ja'far bin al-Zubayr al-Hanafi, and he is matruk (abandoned).
