Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 6593

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "None of you should ever say: 'I made it grow (zara'tu),' rather he should say: 'I tilled the land (harathtu).'"
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Muslim bin Abi Muslim al-Jarmi, and I have not found anyone who gave his biography; the remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
