Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The one who consumes usury (riba), the one who pays it, the one who writes it down and its two witnesses, when they know about it; the woman who tattoos and the woman who has herself tattooed for the sake of beauty; the one who withholds charity; and the one who apostatizes by returning to desert life after emigration (hijrah): (all of these) have been cursed upon the tongue of Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) (or: these have been declared accursed upon the tongue of Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)). (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Part of it is reported in the Sahih and other books.
Imam Ahmad, Abu Ya'la and al-Tabarani (in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir) recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, al-Harith al-A'war, and he is da'if (weak), though he has also been declared trustworthy.
