وَعَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ قَالَ : مَاتَ رَجُلٌ مِنَّا وَتَرَكَ أُمَّ وَلَدٍ [ لَهُ ] ، فَأَرَادَ الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ عُقْبَةَ أَنْ يَبِيعَهَا فِي دَيْنِهِ ، فَأَتَيْنَا ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ ، فَوَجَدْنَاهُ يُصَلِّي ، فَانْتَظَرْنَاهُ حَتَّى فَرَغَ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ ، فَذَكَرْنَا ذَلِكَ لَهُ ، فَقَالَ : إِنْ كُنْتُمْ لَا بُدَّ فَاعِلِينَ ، فَاجْعَلُوهَا فِي نَصِيبِ وَلَدِهَا .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Zayd bin Wahb narrates: A man from among us died and left behind an umm walad of his. Al-Walid bin Uqbah intended to sell that umm walad to pay off the man's debt. We came to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) and found him praying. We kept waiting for him, and when he finished his prayer, we mentioned the situation to him. He said: If you must do this, then include that umm walad slave woman in her child's share.
