Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: They set out with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on a journey. The people encamped in separate groups, some with one person and some with another. He said: I was among the companions of Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him). With us was a Bedouin who lived in the desert. We stopped at the house of a family of Bedouins, and among them was a pregnant woman. The Bedouin said to her: "Would you like to give birth to a boy? If you give me a sheep, you will give birth to a boy." The woman gave him a sheep, and the Bedouin recited rhymed, rhythmic words (and blew over her). He said: Then he slaughtered the sheep. When the people sat down to eat it, a man said: "Do you know where this sheep came from?" Then he told them about it. He said: Then I saw Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) go off to relieve himself, empty his bowels, and vomit (so as to bring up what he had eaten).
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
