عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - أَنَّهُ نَهَى عَنْ ثَمَنِ الْكَلْبِ ، وَقَالَ : " طُعْمَةٌ جَاهِلِيَّةٌ " .
قُلْتُ : هُوَ فِي الصَّحِيحِ خَلَا قَوْلَهُ : " طُعْمَةٌ جَاهِلِيَّةٌ " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .
قُلْتُ : هُوَ فِي الصَّحِيحِ خَلَا قَوْلَهُ : " طُعْمَةٌ جَاهِلِيَّةٌ " .

Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) reports about the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he forbade the price of a dog, and he said: "It is the earning of the Jahiliyyah (pre-Islamic ignorance)." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say:
This narration is mentioned in the "Sahih", but without these words: "the earning of the Jahiliyyah."
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
