وَعَنْ سَلْمَانَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " لَا تَكُنْ أَوَّلَ مَنْ يَدْخُلُ السُّوقَ ، وَلَا آخِرَ مَنْ يَخْرُجُ مِنْهَا فَفِيهَا بَاضَ الشَّيْطَانُ وَفَرَّخَ " .
وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ : " فَإِنَّهَا مَعْرَكَةٌ " . أَوْ قَالَ : " مَرْبَضُ الشَّيْطَانِ ، وَبِهَا يَنْصِبُ رَايَتَهُ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِي الرِّوَايَةِ الْأُولَى : الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، فَإِنْ كَانَ هُوَ الْجَرْمِيَّ فَهُوَ ثِقَةٌ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ . وَفِي الثَّانِيَةِ : يَزِيدُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ : " فَإِنَّهَا مَعْرَكَةٌ " . أَوْ قَالَ : " مَرْبَضُ الشَّيْطَانِ ، وَبِهَا يَنْصِبُ رَايَتَهُ " .

Sayyiduna Salman al-Farisi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not be the first person to enter the market, nor the last person to leave it, (for) in it (the market) Satan lays eggs and hatches young." In one narration the words are: "It is a battlefield." The narrator is unsure; perhaps the words are: "It is the resting place of Satan, and it is there that he plants his banner."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. In the first narration there is a narrator, al-Qasim bin Yazid; if he is al-Jarmi, then he is thiqah (trustworthy), and the rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih. In the second narration there is a narrator, Yazid bin Sufyan, and he is da'if (weak).
