Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 6273

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed his uncle Sayyiduna al-Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) to order his sons to cultivate qadb, for it removes poverty. (The narrator says:) The word "qadb" means ratbah (green fodder).
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains a group of narrators whom I do not know. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: The hadith of Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) will come after this.
