عَنِ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ : دُعِيَ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي الْعَاصِ إِلَى خِتَانٍ فَأَبَى [ أَنْ يُجِيبَ ] ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّا كُنَّا لَا نَأْتِي الْخِتَانَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - ، وَلَا نُدْعَى لَهُ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ .
Hasan narrates: Sayyiduna Uthman bin Abi al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) was invited to a feast held on the occasion of a circumcision, but he refused to go. It was said to him (about this), and he said: "In the blessed time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), we neither used to attend circumcision feasts nor were we invited to them."
