Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 6174

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: In the Days of Ignorance (Jahiliyyah) we used to call the person who joined a meal to which he had not been invited an 'imma'ah' (a hanger-on), and among you the imma'ah is the person who puts his religion behind his back.
