عَنْ بُرَيْدَةَ قَالَ : لَمَّا خَطَبَ عَلِيٌّ فَاطِمَةَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " إِنَّهُ لَا بُدَّ لِلْعَرُوسِ مِنْ وَلِيمَةٍ " .
قَالَ : فَقَالَ سَعْدٌ : عَلَيَّ كَبْشٌ . وَقَالَ فُلَانٌ : عَلَيَّ كَذَا وَكَذَا مِنْ ذُرَةٍ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَفِي إِسْنَادِهِ عَبْدُ الْكَرِيمِ بْنُ سَلِيطٍ ، وَلَمْ يَجْرَحْهُ أَحَدٌ ، وَهُوَ مَسْتُورٌ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
قَالَ : فَقَالَ سَعْدٌ : عَلَيَّ كَبْشٌ . وَقَالَ فُلَانٌ : عَلَيَّ كَذَا وَكَذَا مِنْ ذُرَةٍ .

Sayyiduna Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: When Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) proposed marriage to Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her), the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A wedding must also have a walimah (wedding feast)." So Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Providing a ram is my responsibility. And so-and-so said: Providing such-and-such an amount of millet is my responsibility.
Ahmad recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Abd al-Karim bin Salit, whom no one has criticised; he is mastur (of unestablished status), and the rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
