Majma al-Zawaid 5936 — The first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah
وَعَنْ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ ضَحُّوا وَاحْتَسِبُوا بِدِمَائِهَا ، فَإِنَّ الدَّمَ ، وَإِنْ وَقَعَ فِي الْأَرْضِ ، فَإِنَّهُ يَقَعُ فِي حِرْزِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحُصَيْنِ الْعُقَيْلِيُّ ، وَهُوَ مَتْرُوكُ الْحَدِيثِ .

Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "O people! Offer sacrifice, and hope for its reward with respect to its blood, for although the blood falls on the ground, it falls into the safekeeping of Allah Almighty (that is, its reward is recorded)."
Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Amr bin al-Husayn al-Uqayli, who is matruk al-hadith (abandoned in hadith).
